Connection Exhibition

CONNECTION is an invisible tether that binds us to one another, to our community, and to our world.  And after all we’ve experienced, sacrificed, lost, and gained this year, CONNECTION means even more.

When a dozen people are asked what CONNECTION means to them, the answers vary widely, but a common theme remains:

“Even though we may be far apart, our hearts are always close.”

That’s what CONNECTION means to them. What does CONNECTION mean to you?

This is an open exhibition and Visual, Literary, and Performing Artists of all ages and skill levels are invited to display their work. As a family friendly venue, Flourish Gallery and the Martinsville Arts Council reserve the right to determine art placement.

Important Dates

Exhibition Dates: October 10, 2020 – December 10, 2020

Deadline to deliver art: October 9, 2020

Late Deadline if space remains available: October 15, 2020 by 4pm

Hand deliver work to Flourish Gallery at 88 E Morgan St, Martinsville, IN., 46151 : October 2, 3, 9, 10, 14 or 15 – between 10am – 6pm (by 4pm on October 15) or click here to email Megan Martin to arrange delivery at another time prior to October 15, 2020

Opening Reception: October 15, 2020, 6pm – 8pm during Martinsville’s Third Thursday event. Artists are encouraged to attend.

Pick up unsold work from Flourish Gallery: December 11-12, 2020, from 10am – 6pm or by arrangement


  • Open to all artists.
  • No entry may be withdrawn or sold outside of the exhibition prior to the closing date.
  • All artwork must be ready to hang.
    • No sawtooth hangers; artworks must have wire installed to hang.
  • Pedestals or shelves are available for three-dimensional work.
  • Art must be available for display from October 15, 2020 – December 10, 2020.

There is no fee to exhibit in our Connection Exhibition.

Pricing Agreement

Flourish Gallery handles all sales transactions. The artist agrees that the price submitted on the application form will be the price that the work will be sold for and may not change after submission.  Please note, all sales will include a 20% commission fee to the gallery. Artists will receive 80% of the price listed on their application.

Application Requirements: Applicants may click here to submit using the form on the Flourish Gallery / Martinsville Arts Council website or simply bring their work into Flourish Gallery during business hours (currently Fridays and Saturdays from 10am until 6pm, expanding to include Wednesdays and Thursdays in October).

Forms will be available at the gallery. When you submit your work in person, please have pricing, title, medium, and a description of how your work fits the theme Connection ready when you arrive if you did not submit online.
